Project Details

Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project. It will transform Sydney, delivering more trains and faster services across the network.

The Sydney Metro City & Southwest project will deliver a new 30 kilometre metro line extending rail from the end of Sydney Metro North West at Chatswood, under Sydney Harbour, through new CBD stations and south west to Bankstown.

The Waterloo Integrated Station Development (WISD) includes construction of the new Waterloo metro station by John Holland while a joint venture between John Holland and Mirvac will deliver the Waterloo Metro Quarter, including four buildings above and next to the station.

The new station will be located about three kilometres from the Sydney CBD within the Waterloo Metro Quarter. The development is designed to create a high-quality community experience above and below ground and will be a catalyst for significant urban renewal bringing new opportunities for work, living and transport connections.

Construction work to build the new Waterloo metro station is expected to be complete in 2024, when the City & Southwest metro services start running. If selected to tender for a package of work, you will be contacted directly by a member of our procurement team. The procurement process will involve an Invitation to Tender via Aconex, with a suitable timeframe during which invited parties need to submit a number of deliverables.

John Holland will apply a robust procurement process – managed and supervised by the project’s procurement manager – ensuring governance and compliance. This includes acting with fairness, integrity and transparency while allowing probity of the process. Tenderers will be evaluated against the following principles; robust HSEQ practices and policies (e.g. ISO accreditations), work methodology (including proposed personnel), good workforce industry practice, price competitiveness, value-for-money and conformance with the proposed subcontract.

All tenderers MUST comply with the 2016 Building Code at the time of submitting their interest.
